Always be looking (notice the ground beneath your feet). 2. Consider everything alive & animate. 3. Everything is interesting. Look closer. 4. Alter your course often. 5. Observe for long durations (and short ones). 6. Notice the stories going around you. 7. Notice patterns. Make connections. 8. Document your findings (field notes) in a variety of ways. 9. 3 Scavenger Hunt Instructions 1. Each team has a list of challenges that must be completed. Teams will work to finish as many challenges as possible within the allotted time period. 2. The team to complete all the tasks with the higher score will be the winner. 3. The hunt will take place inside and outside the school premises. Teachers and students will work together. 4. The list can be carried out in any order. 5. All pictures must be taken during the time frame of the event. 6. Teams must stay together for the duration of the hunt, but you may help other teams. 7. The rules are the rules. The decisions of the judge(s) or event host are final. Around Town Scavenger Hunt DAY 1 - Valença The legend says that Valença was founded by Ulysses and Viriato. It was once called Contrasta, due to a beautiful princess who lived there, the younger daughter of a very old king. 6 Around Town Scavenger Hunt DAY 2 - Porto Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the place to go for a unique blend of history, balmy weather, culture, cooking and nightlife. Take a picture of the caravel (a small, fast Portuguese sailing ship of the 15th 17th centuries) at the front entrance of Museu dos Descobrimentos. the team in Ribeira, with Don Luis I bridge in the background. São Francisco s Church, the most prominent Gothic monument in Porto. Palácio da Bolsa, near Praça Infante D. Henrique, a palace built in the 19th century in neoclassical style. the team standing under Rua das Flores street sign. the azulejo panel of Infante D.
