Upgraded curriculum to meet new General Education Core Requirements while maintaining NAAB criteria. Developed and obtained approval for concurrent Liberal Studies Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in conjunction with Planning, Liberal Studies, Asian Studies and Business. Developed and obtained approval for concurrent Interdisciplinary Studies BA degree in Construction Management. Developed Planning and Landscape Design; and Interior Architecture and Design Interdisciplinary Studies BA degree. (Approvals pending.) Student Services Implemented rigorous doctoral level admissions standards resulting in enriched diversity through increased international and second degree student admittees. Enhanced communication with University International Student Services to streamline international student compliance with VISA and travel regulations. Achieved agreement with University Financial Aid Services to streamline and increase funding for Practicum Studio semester needs for all students. Professional Practice Program Director Coordinated with faculty and Professional Practice Committee to weave professional practice strand into the Arch.D. Program. Developed the Practicum Studio with input from NCARB so Practicum Students who establish NCARB Council record may earn IDP credit. Developed a Practicum Studio Overview, Student and Faculty Guides, and Workshops to define performance and evaluation standards. Data developed will be used to monitor and improve learning. Set Policies and Procedures for Practicum Faculty qualifications for appointment, term length and renewal, and student eligibility for placement in firms. Expected results include learning and research rigor and enriched knowledge exchange. Collaborated with the Hawaii State Board of Licensing for Professional Engineers/Architects/Surveyors and Landscape Architects to approve the Architecture Doctorate as a recognized professional degree.
