Sheila Kelsall writes: "Here's another one for the set. This is the year all the girls were introduced to Lisle stockings, shoulder purses, and communal showers. Also new to us were stars and stripes, rough books, leather satchels (sacs) and belonging to Price, Talbot, Guest or Holgate. The greatest contrast with Primary school was having different teachers for different subjects, but I recall they tried to keep us in form rooms for most of the lessons during that year. Apart from assemblies and PE and maybe Science we didn't travel far! Now for the names...i remember Miss Hampshire was a lovely lady who called the register every morning by saying 'Abell, Baker, Bond, Brooke...' and there my memory fails. At least we know those children were in that class!"
