They owned 3 horses, 6 cattle, 16 sheep, 10 pigs, 1/2 plow, 1 wagon, 1 spinning wheel. Since both Peter and Johann owned 1/2 plow, it's assumed they shared ownership of one plow. This could be the Peter Klassen whose signature appears in voting records from the Odessa State Archives, fond 6, inventory 2, file 10512, p. 6). In the 1814 census Peter's wife is Anna. and 3 children are listed Heinrich, Peter, and David. My great-great grandfather Konrad will have been born shortly after this census. Abt 1774, d in Kronsgarten, Chortitza, South Russia, Helena is listed in the 1801 Kronsgarten census as being married to Peter with one child Anna. Abt 1775, d His marriage to Katharina Wall in 1799 apparently took place in either Koldowe or Fogelsang, Prussia per the Heubuden Mennonite Church Records. He migrated from Marienburg, Prussia to S. Russia in 1805 with his family and a Sarah Janzen, age 19, who was said to have been a relative (P. Rempel, p. 97). He apparently settled in the Chortitza Colony since he was residing in Schoenhorst in 1809 per the Chortitza Colony vaccination lists. He had died by Oct 1816 since his wife is listed in the Oct 1816 Census at Schoenhorst #2 with her second husband Johann Wiens. He married Katharina Wall, 19 Nov 1799 in Prussia. 35. Katharina Wall, b. Abt Michael Hildebrandt, b in Broeske, Gross Werder, Prussia, d in Broeske, Gross Werder, Prussia. Other children of Michael were Maria, Regina, Frosine, and Michael. Jakob Hoeppner, b. 3 Jan 1748, d. 4 Mar 1826 in Insel Chortitza, Chortitza, South Russia, buried in Insel Chortitza, Chortitza, South Russia. Jacob H. was one of the delegates sent to Russia by the Prussian church to look at land and negotiate rights for the Mennonites. Unfortunately, when the Mennonites started to arrive they were disappointed with the available land in Chortitza. He was accused of embezzlement, withholding funds promised by the Russian government, and negotiating in bad faith. In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Insel Chortitza #4 (B. H. Unruh, p. 238). In the 1801 Census his family is listed at Insel Chortitza #4, but he himself was not listed in the census. The diary of Jacob Niebuhr (b. 4 May 1862) says he was born 22 Dec 1748, which was apparently his o. s. birth date. One record says he died 5 May His new style (and original) birthdate was 3 Jan, but he returned to the old style (Julian) calendar when he migrated to Russia. However, if his old style birthdate was actually 22 Dec 1748, then his new style birthdate should be 3 Jan He married Sara Dueck, 12 Oct 1773 in Prussia. 39. Sara Dueck, b. 17 Nov 1753 in Neustaedterwald, Gross Werder, Prussia, d. 27 Feb 1826 in Insel Chortitza, Chortitza, South Russia, buried in Insel Chortitza, Chortitza, South Russia. Ihr Vater war Bauer in Neustädter - Ellerwald bei Tiegenhof. 40. Simon Bestvater, b. Abt 1720, d. 19 Apr Apparently he was still alive on Pentecost of He must have died shortly after that. He married Jacob Neufeld. Could this be the same as #345777?? 56. Kohnert Klassen, b. Bef 1745, d Tragheimerweide records, page 30: surname is Klaas. He may have originally been from the Tragheimerweide region. He was living in the Klein Werder between 1765 and 1768 when the deaths of two of his children were recorded in the Elbing-Neuheide Lutheran Church Records. He may be the Konert Klaassen listed in the 1772 W. Prussia Census in Rosenkranz with a wife and one son under 12. In the 1777 census of Mennonites in E. Prussia he is listed in Grigulinen, Lithuania with 3 sons and 1 daughter (H. Penner, p. 422). He was classified as a farmer. His first name is incorrectly given as Howert in the Horst Penner's published version of the census and his surname is given as Claass. His name is given as Kohnert Klas in the 1777 membership list for the Mennonite congregation in Lithuania. However, he is not included in the membership list, suggesting that he may have moved back to West Prussia by He had moved to Schulwiese, Prussia by 1787, where he was a member of the Tragheimerweide Gemeinde. He migrated from Prussia to Kronsgarten, Chortitza, S. Russia by 1793 and is listed in Kronsgarten in the 1797 Chortitza Colony Census (P. Rempel, p. 19). He likely died between 1797 and 1801 since he isn't listed in the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census. He married Wilhelm Plenert, b. Abt 1767 in Montauerweide, Stuhm, Prussia, d. Abt He resided in Montauerweide, Prussia at the time of his baptism. He migrated from Prussia to Russia by 1793 and settled in Kronsgarten, Chortitza, S. Russia in 1793 (P. Rempel, p. 20). In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Kronsweide #6 (B. H. Unruh, p. 242). He transferred his home in Kronsweide to Jacob Banman (b. ca 1777) #198970) between 1795 and 1797 (B. H. Unruh, p. 252) and may have moved to Kronsgarten. He had died by 1797 since his widow Katharina is listed in Kronsweide in 1797 (P. Rempel, p. 24). He married (1). He married (2) Katarina, , b. Abt 1746, In the 1797 Chortitza Colony Census she is listed as a widow in Kronsweide (P. Rempel, p. 24). In the 1816 Census she is listed at Kronsgarten #1 with her son Johann Klassen (b. ca 1767) # (Stumpp's book The Emigration from Germany to Russia, p. 873). She may have been the mother of some of Heinrich Banman's younger children since her year of marriage to Heinrich Banman is unknown (Tim Janzen, 28 Apr 2010) Philip Kauenhowen, b. 4 Apr 1748 in Schoenfeld, Danzig, Prussia, d. 29 Apr 1806 in Rosenthal, Chortitza, South Russia. One record says he was born 8 Apr After his marriage, he and his wife moved to Elbing, Prussia. In October 1788 they moved to Russia. In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Kronsweide #23 (B. H. Unruh, p. 243). In the 1797 Census he is also listed in Kronsweide (P. Rempel, p. 24). Sometime between 1797 and 1802 he moved to Rosenthal (B. H. Unruh, p. 252, 253). He is not listed in the 1801 Census. B. H. Unruh, p. 296 states that he was born 4 Apr One source says he died 27 Apr He married Magdalena Toews, 5 Aug 1770 in Danzig, Poland. 63. Magdalena Toews, b. Abt 1750, d. 13 Oct 1802 in Rosenthal, Chortitza, South Russia. Her age is given as 55 at the time of her death in 1802 in the Chortitza Colony Vital Records, suggesting that she may have been born ca One record incorrectly says she was born 5 Apr 1730 and one record incorrectly says she died 27 Apr th Great-Grandparents 66. Wilhelm "Willem" Bollee, b. 3 Feb 1746 in Stolzenberg, Danzig, Prussia, d. 31 May 1789 in Schoenhorst, Chortitza, South Russia. On 2 July 1788, he, his wife, his three daughters, and a step-son, Wilhelm Zacharias, moved to Russia where he settled in Schoenhorst, Chortitza Colony (B. H. Unruh, p. 291; P. Rempel, p. 45). One record says he was born 3 Feb 1746 (2/3 vs. 3/2). If he died in Schoenhorst, Chortitza Colony, he must have died after July 1789 since the Chortitza Colony settlers didn't arrive at the Chortitza Colony until July Wlhelm had 4 daughters. The family migrated to South Russia 2 Jul He married Agatha Dyck, 19 Apr 1772 in Danzig-Schidlitz, Danzig, Poland. 67. Agatha Dyck, b. Mar 1746 in Prussia, d. 8 Oct 1823 in Schoenhorst, Chortitza, South Russia. In the Oct 1816 Chortitza Colony Census she is listed at Schoenhorst #9 in the household of her son-in-law Abraham Klassen (b. 28 Nov 1778) # It is possible that another Agatha Dyck was the one that married Isebrand Friesen. However, she could not have been the mother of his children. One family record says this Agatha Dyck died 7 Oct. The Family Book Vol. 2 says he married Agatha Dyck 19 Apr She married (1) Wilhelm Zacharias, 9 Feb 1766 in Danzig-Stadtgebiet, Poland, b in Danzig-Schidlitz, Danzig, Poland, d. 20 Jan 1772 in Stolzenberg, Danzig, Prussia, One family record says he was married to Agatha Dyck on 9 Feb If this is true, there is a problem with the birth dates of some of the children, which precede that date. Was he married before? Clarification is needed. Agatha was his widow when she married in Died age 28Y. She married (2) Wilhelm "Willem" Bollee, 19 Apr 1772 in Danzig-Schidlitz, Danzig, Poland. She married (3) Isbrand Friesen, in South Russia, b. 14 Oct 1740, d. 1803, In the 1776 W. Prussia Census he is listed in Heubuden with his wife and two sons (H. Penner, p. 432). He was a member of the Heubuden Gemeinde. In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Schoenhorst #9 (B. H. Unruh, p. 241) and in the 1801 Census at Schoenhorst #10. Charles Bergen says that he died in Henry Schapansky in his book Mennonite Migrations on p. 580 says that he died in Cornelius Wall. In the 1776 W. Prussia Census he is listed in Schwansdorf with 3 sons and 1 daughter (H. Penner, p. 462). He was a member of the Ellerwald Gemeinde. 70. Friedrich Wall, b. Abt 1727, d. 13 Feb 1802 in Kalthof, Gross Werder, Prussia. One record says his given name was Ehrenfried. Henry Schapansky seems to have connected this man to his purported children based on the fact that they had sons named Friedrich. This Friedrich Wall, according to Hermann Thiessen, is the one listed in the 1776 Census at Czattkau. He married (1) Cornelia Suckau, d. 21 Nov 1763 in Danzig-Stadtgebiet, Poland. He married (2) Margaretha Regier, 29 Jan 1764 in Danzig-Heubude, Danzig, Poland. 71. Margaretha Regier, b. 12 Jul 1744, d. 17 Oct 1809 in Sandhof, Marienburg, Prussia. 76. Jacob Heppner, b. Prussia Census he is listed in Klein Mausdorferweide with his wife, two sons over 10 years old, and one son under 10, two daughters under 10, and one male servant. At this time he owned 25 Morgan of land. His occupation is stated to have been a farmer. In the 1776 W. Prussia Census he is listed in Klein Mausdorferweide with his wife, one son and one daughter (H. Penner, p. 428). According to land records acquired by Glenn Penner from the Marbork Archives in Poland Jacob Heppner's widow Anna Kroeker remarried to Abraham Dyck. After her death the property was sold to Johann Klein of Waldorf and the proceeds were given to her children by Jacob Heppner, which were Anton, Anna, and Helena. This occurred sometime prior to 1789 since according to the 1789 W. Prussia Mennonite Land Census the property was owned by Johann Klein in Dennis Friesen's database, Linda Hiles' database, and Stanley Harder's book "From Prussia to Russia to North America: 300 year" give 4

5 Jacob Heppner's birth date as 25 Sep 1711, but this appears to be incorrect, this is the birth date of his brother Anthon.
