The last bracket are the fathers of Ursulas two children. Looks like SIMMER, Johann, for No. 1. No father recorded for No. 2. (Our name should be Simmer, I guess.) And his brother, Johann Albrecht, born 10/10/1822 and died of Scarlet Fever at the age of 4 yrs, 2 mo., 2 days, in This is the backside of the first page I am sending here. Apparently, this being not married was common in those times. Protestants and Catholics could not marry. But, the times were changing and families were started hoping that the Catholic church would repeal this and they could then marry. Johanns wife, Barbara, parents were not married either, they had had several children including Barbara. I found all this out from a church/historian/student in Germany. In fact, the passenger list that has these people, has Barbara coming over under her maiden name. So, I don't know when they got married. My grandfather did say they had a child that was born and died at sea. And was buried on some island on the way over. Her bible records an 'extra' birth.
