She was an elementary-education major, a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, a Gold Side cheerleader, and a member of the Women s Cross Country team. If any students, faculty, or staff wish to meet with a counselor, please call Counseling Services at Our sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends. 2 Volume 2, Issue 1 Page 2 Honors Incoming Freshmen: Move-In & Orientation with Peer Mentors Honors freshmen moved in a day early this year. Afterwards, they attended Honors Orientation, where they met their peer mentors and a few Honors professors. Peer mentors and freshmen participated in team-building games, resume reflection, and ice breakers. Honors Program Website s New Look We ve redesigned the Honors webpage. Let us know if you have ideas to make this an even more effective webpage!

The Peer Mentors assisted with Move-In Day and Honors Orientation and are planning several events for this fall such as enjoying Oak Mountain State Park, catching a play at the Red Mountain Theatre, experiencing varying forms of art at the Birmingham Museum of Art, and listening to the New Orleans Legends featuring Allen Touissant and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Wright Center. Float into Fall Honors students began the semester by attending Float into Fall on Monday, August 25 at Hill House.
