1 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH DUNDAS I BY-LAW NO A BY-LAW of the Corporation of the Township of South Dundas to provide for the erection of stop signs and yield right-of-way signs at intersections. WHEREAS the Municipal Act, 2007, S.O. 2001, Chapter 25, Section 27, and the Highway Trafiic Act, R.S.O. 7990, Chapter H.8, Sections , as amended, provides that the Council of a municipality may, by by-law, provide for the erection of stop signs and yield right-of-way signs at intersections on highways under its jurisdiction, and every sign so erected shall comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario; and, WHEREAS the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, Section l(1) defines a "through highway" as a highway or part of a highway designated as such by the Minister or by bylaw of a municipality, and every such highway shall be marked by a stop sign or yield right of way sign in compliance with the regulations of the Ministry; and, WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to erect stop signs and yield right-of-way signs in compliance with the regulations made under the said Act at certain designated locations; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of South Dundas enacts as follows: 1. THAT stop signs and yield right-of-way signs be erected in compliance with the regulations made under the Highway Traffic Act at the locations designated in Schedule " A attached and forming part of this By-law. 2. THAT the penalties provided in the Highway Traffic Act, R.S , Chapter H.8 shall apply to offences against this By-law. 3. THAT each designation made by Section 1 shall not become effective until stop signs and yield right-of-way signs have been erected in accordance with the regulations of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H THAT By-Law No.'s 17-84, 64-13, 61-4, 718, 727, of the former Village of Iroquois; 15-97,15-93,13-88,24-85,33-90,24-85,15-84,20-78,19-78,24-75 of the former Village of Morrisburg; of the former Township of Matilda; , , of the former Township of W illiamsburg; , of the Township of South Dundas are hereby repealed in their entirety.
