5 WERNER DE DOBBELEER, PRESS OFFICER, VSV Werner De Dobbeleer is the press officer of VSV (Flemish Foundation for Traffic Knowledge), a Belgian organization specialized in mobility and road safety education. Apart from press and media contacts, he is involved in the development of professional training programmes and thematical conferences, and acts as a representative of VSV in various national and international working groups and organisations (Federal Road Safety Commission, CIECA, Polis, European Transport Safety Council). As a former collaborator of the Belgian Road Safety Institute (IBSR-BIVV), Werner De Dobbeleer has been involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of road safety campaigns since He has contributed to European projects in the field of road safety, such as the EuroBob designated driver campaign ( ) and CAST (Campaigns and Awareness-raising Strategies in Traffic safety, ). Werner De Dobbeleer is also a co-editor of the Manual for designing, implementing and evaluating road safety communication campaigns, published in the framework of the CAST project.

8 25 BERNARD KELLER, LA PRÉVENTION ROUTIÈRE Bernard Keller trained as an information officer and works in the Department of Communication of the association Prévention Routière He is in charge of the Section concerned with documentation and information. His section tracks recent developments and research in the field of road safety. He is also in charge of the publication of a regular specialised bulletin produced by APR and he contributes to the internet site of the association.

9 25 TJARK KREUZINGER, SENIOR MANAGER SAFETY RESEARCH & TECHNICAL AFFAIRS, TOYOTA MOTOR EUROPE NV Born : University of Technology Aachen/D, Automotive Engineer (Dip. Ing.) 2005 Doctor degree of Engineering at University of Technology Aachen (Dr. Ing.) Tjark Kreuzinger made his Doctor in Mechanics in 2005 at Aachen University where he also graduated in He was employed at BAST, Germany as Research Staff in the department of Passive Safety/Biomechanics. Among other activities in that time, he was the German representative in EEVC Working Groups and responsible for EU Research projects: CREST, SID 2000, SIBER, VITES, CHILD, APROSYS. Since 2002, he is working for Toyota where his current position is senior manager of the Vehicle Safety Department of Toyota Moter Europe in its headquaerter in Brussel, Belgium. He is responsible for Research, Pre-Development and Technical Communication on Active and Passive Safety.

10 27 JACQUELINE LACROIX, INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND TRAFFIC MEDICINE, GERMAN ROAD SAFETY COUNCIL (DVR) Jacqueline Lacroix studied Geography at the University of Cologne, Germany. Since 1991 she is working for the German Road Safety Council and responsible for the European Relations and - since also for the field of traffic medicine. She is coordinating the Committee for Traffic Medicine of DVR which develops recommendations and formulates resolutions for road safety-related stakeholders in Germany. Currently she is involved in several international projects such as the PRAISE project from the European Transport Safety Council. She is member of the Steering Committee and the Panel of the PIN Programme of ETSC.

15 27 SZABOLCS SCHMIDT, HEAD OF ROAD SAFETY, EUROPEAN COMMISSION DG MOVE Szabolcs Schmidt graduated from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in He worked both in the private and in the public sector in Munich, Budapest, Dresden, Warsaw and Brussels on transport and on economic development issues. In 2002 he joined the European Commission services where he holds the position of Head of Unit responsible for road safety. In this function he is developing the European Union's road safety policy which includes among others- the EU legislation on driving licences, cross-border enforcement, technical road-worthiness of vehicles and infrastructure safety

18 25 ALEXANDER VANCOLEN, MARKETING & EMOBILITY TEAM LEADER, ROBERT BOSCH GMBH Alexander Vancolen is Marketing & Project Specialist at Robert Bosch Automotive Technology Benelux NV. He is responsible for the Bosch emobility projects in the Benelux. Besides promoting improved mobility, also fuel-efficient and safe driving are high on Alexander s agenda. He aims to increase awareness of the benefits of driver assistance systems and of making conscious choices regarding car fuels and engines (diesel, gasoline, hybrid, electric). Alexander works at Bosch since 2007.

19 25 JAN VAN DEN BOSSCHE, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER TRANSPORTATION & MOBILITY, GRONTMIJ BELGIUM Born 1950 Civil engineer construction University of Louvain : employed by the engineering firm Grontmij Belgium : Projectdirector of the TV 3: the Joint Venture Veilig Verkeer Vlaanderen ( road safety Flanders). This Joint Venture was formed by 3 engineering bureaus: Arcadis Belgium, Grontmij Belgium and Technum-Tractebel.TV 3V was assigned by the Road Agency of the Flemish Government (AWV) to improve the road safety of 800 dangerous crossings in Flanders. This joint venture drew up the year program, formulated standard-solutions and guidelines and is in fact the prime partner in the realisation of the selected black spots, in cooperation with the Flemish road agency. After the preliminary design of the 800 crossroads, each project is handed over for further detailing and executing. As of that stage TV 3V acted as a delegate to the principal the Flemish Road Agency.
