Chow advisors: Walter Hood, Mark Anderson and Anthony Dubovsky University of Virginia School of Architecture Bachelor of Science in Architecture, 2001 _ Raven Society _ 2001 resident of the University Lawn CURRENT RESEARCH The Atlas of Urban Ecologies presents a revised take on the architectural Grand Tour. Instead of focusing on individual, historically significant examples, the Atlas assembles walkable itineraries that dissect the city as a living urban ecology. Each chapter presents a collection of sites (architecture, landscape, and infrastructure) grouped around thematic readings of the city. The Atlas assists the reading of urban layers, deconstructing the systems, spaces and materials that constitute the built environment. Conceived of as a series, each edition of the Atlas will highlight a particular place. Case Study 01: Rome.
