PUBLIC BUILDING BROWARD COUNTY MAIN LIBRARY FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA AS PROJECT ARCHITECT MARCEL BREUER, NEW YORK JOINT VENTURE MILLER & MEIER, FLORIDA A 256,000 sq. ft., 8-story building housing the 1,000,000-volume Main library and the county library s administration offices. The building includes an interior street, featuring a 2-story-high greenhouse and a reflecting pool to attract downtown pedestrians to the popular library and a 300-seat auditorium. An exterior dining terrace completes the series of terraces opening the different activities of the library to the shaded entrance plaza. AS TEAM ARCHITECT MARCEL BREUER ASSOCIATES, PARIS On a 50-acre site in southern France, this 587,000 sq. ft. center includes research laboratories and administration offices. The firm received five successive commissions for this site after the initial master planning phase.
