A group exibition exploring marriage between artists, both in terms of relationship as well as their art. For this exhibition lorimoto asked 9 couples to collaboratively create work together for the show. Though some had collaborated on projects before many had not. mar riage 1 the legally or formally recognized union of a man and a woman (or, in some jurisdictions, two people of the same sex) as partners in a relationship. 2 a combination or mixture of two or more elements. A married couple collaborates daily in everyday life. They split resposibilities, bounce views & ideas, & ultimately communicate to have success as a couple. These same principals can also be used to create successful art. Artmaking however; is often considered inherently personal or an indiviual process. When a marriage or relationship involves 2 artists there is a constant dialog for art & ideas, though most of the time the actual art is made separately. Perhaps your best partner in life could also be your best partner in art. This show seeks to push couples from their comfort zone & create something new (a marriage of art) that perhaps otherwise would not have been made.
