1 Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden 2014 ANNUAL REPORT th Anniversary 2014 Rockford s Largest Public Garden & Living Museum
2 Looking Back, Moving Forward Dear Friends of Klehm, We are pleased to present to you our 2014 Annual Report. For all of us at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, 2014 was a year of growth and engagement. The Plant-a-Row garden harvested one ton of fresh produce, all donated to the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. Through generous gifts we were able to initiate the renovation of the Sensory and Demonstration Gardens with redesigned garden areas and a new observation deck on the Clarcor Pavilion. As we celebrate Klehm s 25 th Anniversary, we must think about our founders and the foresight they had for the future and the direction of the Arboretum. They were charged, as we are now, with the stewardship, growth, and Dan viability Riggs of this wonderful place they so ingeniously conceived, Executive developed, Director and nurtured. These visionaries have included directors, staff, and many volunteers, all contributing their ideas, energy, and passion for Klehm and their visions for the arboretum collections and gardens of tomorrow. Along with the Board of Directors, we extend our sincere appreciation to the individuals, corporations, foundations, and the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County that provided generous funding and support for Klehm s ongoing operations and endowment. With their help, we have successfully established a solid foundation for our community s next generation of visionaries. Warm regards, Stephanie Jacobs President Dan Riggs Executive Director Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden
