Inva is the regin s leading nt-fr-prfit healthcare system that serves mre than 2 millin peple annually in its five hspitals and multiple ambulatry prgrams. Inva is ne f the regin s largest private sectr emplyers and is redevelping the frmer Exxn/Mbil campus in Fairfax Cunty. Dr. Jnes is als Prfessr f Urlgy at the University f Virginia, which is wrking with Inva t bring undergraduate medical educatin and research t Fairfax. Dr. Jnes previusly served as President f Cleveland Clinic Reginal Hspitals and Family Health Centers. He led 11 hspitals and mre than 24 large ambulatry centers. The Cleveland Clinic is regarded as ne f the leading, best managed health systems in the cuntry. State f the State Budget Neal Menkes and Jim Regimbal frm the Virginia Municipal League briefed cmmissiners n the State f the State budget and what t anticipate in the cming General Assembly sessin. ACTION ITEMS Cmmissiner Grss mved apprval f the Reslutin N. P19-09 Reslutin authrizing submissin f cmments t the State Crpratin Cmmissin related t a filing regarding Demand Respnse and Cnservatin prgrams by Dminin Energy. The mtin was secnded by Cmmissiner Bulva and carried unanimusly. Backgrund: Dminin Energy has filed an applicatin with the State Crpratin Cmmissin utlining a number f new demand respnse (cnservatin) measures and the extensin f existing prgrams. Staff is requesting authrity t submit a letter with cmments related t the applicatin filed by the cmpany. Cmmissiner Grss mved apprval f the Reslutin N. P19-10 Reslutin authrizing letter f supprt fr a reginal grant being submitted t the Natinal Institute n Drug Abuse. The mtin was secnded by Cmmissiner Olem and carried unanimusly. Backgrund: The grant wuld prvide Virginia up t $120 millin in funding ver 4 years t enable/develp integrated appraches fr preventin and treatment activities within partnering cmmunities. Mr. Lazar presented his reprt t the Cmmissin, which included the financial reprt fr Octber 2018 and the fllwing: Knw Txics Training NVRC led and crdinated a well attended, successful Knw Txics training sessin at Fairfax Cunty s I-66 transfer statin. Mre than 60 persns attended the training. Plant NVA Natives Wins Award NVRC s Plant NVA Natives prgram wn an award frm Fairfax Cunty and the Fairfax Cunty Tree Cmmissin. Cngratulatins t NVRC s Crey Miles and all the vlunteers wh make this prgram a great success. Trail and Paddle NVRC staff pleased t jin with Natinal Capital Planning Cmmissin, Natinal Park Service and Frt Belvir n hike and paddle alng prtins f the Ptmac Heritage Scenic Trail. Prpsed hike rute is part f public access plan fr peridic, scheduled pprtunities t see the histric, scenic and envirnmentally significant parts f trail. Bike/Pedestrian Safety NVRC wrking with ur lcal gvernment partners and thers cnducted numerus bike/pedestrian safety utreach sessins. The sessins many times were cnducted in crash ht spts. NVRC cntinues t expand its utreach effrts fr the 2019 calendar year. Sharing Infrmatin f Weatherizatin NVRC was pleased t attend Dumfries Twn Cuncil meeting with ur partners at Cmmunity Husing Partners (CHP) at invitatin f Cmmissiner Neville t prvide infrmatin related t varius free weatherizatin prgrams available t residents. Twn hsted CHP at a senir citizen lunch t share the infrmatin with residents n the prgrams. Strmwater Wrkshp NVRC crdinated a wrkshp fr 50 peple with the City f Alexandria t educate hmewners n hw they can reduce strmwater runff and pllutin thrugh implementing strmwater friendly landscaping n their wn prperty. The Strmwater Engineer frm Alexandria prvided infrmatin abut rain gardens, cnservatin landscaping, tree planting, and ther practices. Lcally

4 Page 4 renwned landscape designer Jhn Magee described hw t make the landscape functinal and aesthetically pleasing by using native plants. Cyber Security Apprenticeship Wrkshp NVRC hsted a wrkshp n Cyber Security Apprenticeships. Participants included US Dept. f Labr, VA Dept. f Labr, N VA Cmmunity Cllege, Amazn Web Services, Peregrine LLC and the FDM Grup. Many thanks t NVA Chamber & Technlgy Cuncil fr their supprt and participatin. Energy Results NVRC is pleased ur Slarize NVA prgram achieved a significant milestne f 2 MW f slar. The slar prjects represent 4% f net metered slar in the Cmmnwealth f Virginia. Our Spring campaign will kick ff in April and run thrugh the end f June. Cmmissiner Garvey brught it t the Cmmissin s attentin that Arlingtn Cunty has been struggling with the fact that Dminin Energy hasn t been cmpleting necessary repairs fast enugh. Mr. Lazar reprted that the Chief Administrative Officers are meeting with Dminin Energy regarding this issue sn.
