6 From the Editor Focus on German Studies remains a cooperative effor and its tradition continues with the twentyfourth volume thanks to the collective effort of the graduate students in the German Studies Department at the University of Cincinnati. I am proud to continue the Focus tradition and would very much like to extend my sincerest thanks to all the graduate students, without whom this publication would not be possible. It is with their help that we are able to maintain a highquality standard and a reputation of excellence. I would like to extend special thanks to all previous journal editors for their contributions to our publication, especially those who most recently completed the transition to the online platform, Open Journal Systems. Our publication and its entire publication history are available online and this allows readers to access our volumes quickly and easily. I would like to thank espeically Mark Konecny and Sophie Zhang for their help with the editorial work involved in this volume. Without their help, our journal would not be ready to move into a smoother production process in the future. I would also like to thank the Book Reviews Editor of this volume, Ellen C.
