4 The following list of names recorded on the memorial contain basic information about the men. This includes, name, address, regiment and regimental number and date of death where known. Dates are written in international format ie YYYYMMDD. The table is arranged in strict alphabetical name order and some men will have more than one entry. This is because they have held more than one regimental numbers or addresses. Where regimental numbers are shown -999 indicates 'do not know' and -5 or -7 indicates an officer. The information is drawn from a database of men who served in WW1 from Berkshire. Any corrections or additional information would be gladly received. john.chapman@purley.eu surname xnames serial regiment house street town dod Abery Jack H -995 Wiltshires 30 Armour Rd Tilehurst Abery Samuel Ralph Wiltshires 9 Recreation Rd Tilehurst Ackerman George 2324 RMLI Calcot Allen Ernest John R Warwicks 4 Downing Rd Tilehurst Allen John William RN 40 Cholmeley Rd Reading Allen Westley Dennis -995 Wiltshires 10 St Edwards Rd Reading Baker Harry James 8183 R Berks Bloomfield Norman Bradby Canadians T h e Brambles Tilehurst Boseley Arthur Manchesters Pangbourne Boseley Arthur R Berks Reading Brind S E -995 Australians Tilehurst Brown C -999 unknown T I L E - Buckland Sidney James RMLI Norcot Rd Tilehurst Cane Norman 2776 R Berks 27 Brisbane Rd Reading Cane Norman R Berks 27 Brisbane Rd Reading Champion Sidney MGC 77 Armour Road Tilehurst Champion Sidney Welch R 77 Armour Road Tilehurst Champion Sidney 5285 R Berks 77 Armour Road Tilehurst Champion Sidney R Berks 77 Armour Road Tilehurst Chandler Frank Stair 8906 R Berks Albury Westwood Rd Tilehurst Chandler Frederick William 8446 R Berks Albury Westwood Rd Tilehurst Chapman Henry Robert 8796 R Berks Tilehurst Chapman R -999 unknown Tilehurst Childs F 2247 R Berks Newbury Childs F R Berks Newbury
