10 Teaching Activity Undergraduate teaching in the last years Courses Except for the sabbatical leave in the year 2006/2007 I have usually given two courses each year, one for the first level degree ( Laurea triennale ) in Mathematics, one for the second level degree ( Laurea specialistica ) in Mathematics, on the following topics: Year 2011/2012 Geometry 2 (1st level, one-term course), Higher Geometry (2nd level two-terms course, topics: de Rham cohomology, Riemann surfaces) Year 2010/2011 Geometry I (1st level, two-terms course), Complements of Algebra (1st level one term course, on Galois theory) Year 2009/2010 Geometry I (1st level, two-terms course). 11 I have been a member of the Collegio Superiore of the University of Bologna, a special program addressed to selected students, from 2002 to In particular during these four years I have been tutoring a group of mathematics students (first and second level), for whom I organized special programs of lectures, reading courses and selected exercises sessions. For the Collegio Superiore program I also delivered a course, addressed to students of all curricula, with the title Mathematics of daily life: tilings, braids, knots, billiards. I became again a member of the Collegio Superiore starting November 2009, as a tutor of four students in Mathematics. I delivered a set of lectures on Introduction to topology in March I was chosen to deliver the lectio magistralis La Matematica dei nodi for the meeting of the Collegio Superiore with a selected group of high school students, in July Undergraduate students I supervised the graduation theses, for the first or second level degree in mathematics (both levels for some of the students), of the students listed below. The topics treated fall within one of the following fields: geometric group theory, algebraic topology, complex analysis, differential geometry, Lie groups, algebraic geometry. Most of my undergraduate students went on to study mathematics enrolling in Ph.D. programs of other universities.
