The property is set on the world famous Cathedral Green with the most magnificent views to the west front of Wells Cathedral, noted by the architectural historian Alec Clifton-Taylor as one of the great sights of England. The house was built by Benjamin Andrews, steward to the Dean and Chapter of Wells Cathedral in circa following a grant of the land in a decree of the 2nd January It is understood that Benjamin Andrews and his descendants then retained leasehold ownerships for some years and the Cathedral then archives documents that detail a series of leasehold tenancies up until 1962 when it eventually sold the freehold. The house is Grade II Listed being of particular architectural and historical merit with rendered elevations, stone quoins and a handsome dressed stone portico.

4 DESCRIPTION This is an exceptional example of a classical, unspoilt Georgian property, which retains a wealth of original character and charm. Also, it offers an outstanding location on the green, directly adjacent to one of Britains finest cathedrals.
