3 Wesley Housing Overview Organizational Origins o Founded in 1974 based on a study of social justice issues by the local districts of the United Methodist Church Mission o Develop, own, operate, preserve, and maintain affordable housing and sustain quality communities for low- and moderate-income families and individuals across the Washington, D.C. region. 3

8 Design Working Group Process DWG is a designated committee tasked to: Study in depth site design elements regarding the proposed affordable housing Develop Site Design Priorities to dictate overall site design Report back and make recommendations to the Session and Congregation Involve PCWS representatives 8
9 DWG Identified Priorities Overall Site Design Goals To create an overall site design that is simultaneously conducive to all church uses and desires inside and outside the building. This includes a space that would enable outdoor worship, social gatherings such as barbecues etc. and sufficient parking that enables easy, welcoming access to the church while enabling the implementation of the Waldorf pedagogy within the church walls and externally which will allow the school to remain a long-term tenant. To keep all children, families, residents, guests, and church users safe and have a design that fosters safety. 9
