Following the sale, the home was first converted into a hotel, then a boarding home and then in the mid-70 s, a home for senior citizens. Facing demolition due to redevelopment in March, 1985, real estate developer Phil Gordon decided to move the house in order to preserve a piece of Phoenix s history. During the moving process however, the house was severely damaged. In order to save one of the oldest brick homes in Phoenix, the building was taken apart brick by brick where it was rebuilt at its current location. Today it is a visible part of the vibrant Roosevelt District s storied past.
