2 Executive Summary Unit 11 forms part of the wider Blackfriars Circus development being undertaken by Barratt London to provide 336 new homes along with more than 40,000 sq ft of employment and retail space (lining the street edges). Designed by Maccreanor Lavington Architects, Blackfriars Circus is made up of five buildings around a central courtyard which is open to all. The area is also being regenerated to make it more amenable to pedestrians, with pavements being widened, trees planted and a new cycle highway built to take cycles from Elephant & Castle to Kings Cross. The unit fronts onto St George s Circus at the junction of Borough Road and Blackfriars Road, being part of an elegant new building with a curved façade.
