1 DESIGN PRIORITIES Avenues for Homeless Youth Avenues provides shelter, transitional housing, and support services to over 200 homeless youth annually through a variety of programs including Minneapolis Avenues and the recently opened Brooklyn Avenues. Minneapolis Avenues is a facility containing 21 beds in the Near North neighborhood supporting approximately 150 youth every year. The facility is housed in a three-story brick home built in 1934 as a Jewish Sheltering Home for Children. This facility includes 8 shared bedrooms, common space for residents, and offices for direct service staff, as well as administration facilities.
