4 The Mill House Originating from about 1800, The Mill House is an attractive Grade II listed property comprising a former water mill and attached house. The house is built of stone covered with colour-washed and scored render under a slate roof, whilst the attached three-storey mill is built of plain stone under a slate and stone slab roof. Identified as Cloton Mill in Thomas Hardy s short story Destiny and a Blue Cloak of 1874, the property has been owned by the current vendors for the past 24 years and has been sympathetically renovated and upgraded throughout with great taste and charm and is presented in immaculate order. During their time the mill has been imaginatively incorporated into the main house. On the ground floor of the house, the front door opens to the reception hall with stairs rising to the first floor and doors leading off to the drawing room on one side and the snug on the other, with steps and a door leading on through to the large kitchen/dining room, which is fitted with a range of floor and wall-mounted units and a range of electric appliances. 5 Situation & Amenities The Mill House is situated on the edge the small, rural village of Netherbury, in a pretty valley formed by the River Brit and close to the attractive market town of Beaminster. The town has a good variety of shops, businesses, restaurants, pubs, hotels, B&Bs, clubs and organisations. It also hosts the annual Beaminster Festival devoted to music and the visual arts.
