2 CASH Cities Action for Sustainable Housing Project The ambition of the CASH project is to propose new solutions and promote new policies for the sustainable renovation of social and affordable housing units in the European Union. CASH is a network of 11 partners (10 cities and one region) led by Echirolles City. As a contribution to Climate Change issue, the network seeks to reduce the energy consumption of buildings and in buildings. It looks for new solutions to renovate social and affordable housing units, in order to improve their energy efficiency (EE) and to influence users behavior through citizens involvement. Development phase ( ) - Partners have exchanged on their diagnosis, experience and best practices on the subject, during a Peer review consisting in joint visits to each city and have elaborated with the Lead expert a baseline study. Implementation phase ( ) Through the organization of 6 thematic seminars on renovation and EE and through the elaboration of local action plans with local support groups created for that purpose, partners will exchange and provide knowledge, experimental and technical know-how. Major outputs will be a global guideline on energy efficient renovation of social housing Cities Advices for Sustainable Housing dedicated to European cities and professionals (including technological, legal, financial, governance, management aspects) and a compendium of cities actions with pilot projects and actions in course and planned Cities Actions for Sustainable Housing.

6 Players (actors with the Municipality) IACP Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari Born in 1903 after Law 251, it had his golden age between World Wars, when the need of social housing was very high. It has offices in each city, even the smallest, and it has been charged to manage the housing stock of other public companies after their suppression. INA casa Istituto Nazionale Assicurazioni In 1949, INA starts the most important project to build social houses, also to help italian contractors after the WWII. In 14 years, until 1963, INA Casa builds apartments in cities. INCIS Istituto Nazionale Case Impiegati dello Stato Born in the early XX century, INCIS provides apartments for public employment, it was suppressed in 1973 and his stock housing has been managed by IACP.

18 Plan _ project Per il progetto, si è pensato di realizzare delle serre in ogni abitazione. Queste, sono spazi aggiuntivi aggettanti che hanno il compito di captare la massima radiazione solare. Essendo le temperature e il clima sempre piuttosto torridi, l elemento vetrato a nord favorisce un buon risultato per il surriscaldament o d inverno e la ventilazione d estate.
