Situated only 8 kilometres from Essaouira, in the heart of a small village. The Atlantic Ocean is very close, with its immense and deserted beaches where the wind from the ocean tempers the Moroccan sunshine. Dar Ghazou is the ideal choice to unwind and enjoy Moroccan hospitality. The interior garden of the Dar is framed by antique pillars with a large inner garden planted with palm trees and bougainvillea making a focal point of the Riad. It is the perfect place to relax or read a book, have a siesta in the hammock or enjoy a delicious mint tea with family and friends. A staircase leads one up to an exquisite sunlit roof terrace, a wonderful vantage point for viewing the surrounding countryside or for a spot of private sunbathing. The main rooms of the house, all luminous and spacious, open into the central atrium encouraging reflection and inward focus. There is a large living room with fireplace and a kitchen-style dining room. Two major sunlit suites with a big double bed, beautifully decorated with flair and authenticity. The first is designed with its own little sitting area, laden with cushions around a chimney fire for the mid season rentals. The other has its own little private study area, with a lovely stone table, for those who need to write or work. There are two further double bedrooms in the courtyard with a shared bathroom on the garden side. In a luxuriant garden beyond the Dar you can relax on the loungers in the shade of the palm trees around the heated swimming pool with steps. Protected from the wind and intrusive neighbours, perfect for having your breakfast or sunbathing, you can literally spend all day in this idyllic secret garden. Opposite the swimming pool there is a pool house equipped with a plasma screen, DVD player with an HDMI outlet and Ipod speakers. A sort of pleasure dome, it is ideal for lunching or exercising. There is a massage table. Built in state of the art materials, our traditional Moroccan Hammam is pure delight; you can lie under its dome soaking up the hot steam conducted by a wood fire under the floor (on demand). The Dar is surrounded by magnificent gardens of mimosa, giant cacti, jasmine, papyrus, oleanders, etc.. What else can you ask it is a dream spot, such as evening drinks whilst watching the crimson sunset over the Atlantic coast. A magical moment, when time stands still, absorbing the peace of the little village Ghazoua to the distant sounds of the goat bells in the nearby fields.
