The John Mott House is one of three houses of the Young Men s Christian Association in Munich. We offer young men who want to study in Munich the opportunity to live and work together with other students in a dorm. Please return the attached application form in full. The dorm has four floors and is part of John Mott House. The 17 residents of each floor, in addition to the sanitary facilities each have a shared kitchen and a lounge available. You can also use the sports hall and the garden. The John Mott House offers single rooms in four different sizes (10, 12, 16 and 20 m²). The rents are currently at 231, -, 251, -, 308, - and 342, - Euro. This amount includes charges for bed linen, electricity, water, heating and internet, as well as for the use of kitchens and showers. There is no entitlement to a specific room. A deposit equal to double the monthly rent and a key deposit of 50, - Euro are required as security deposit. I apply for one of the largest rooms in John-Mott-Haus (16/20m²) I prefer one of the middle-sized rooms (12m²) If possible I would like to stay in one of the smallest rooms (10m²) The decission will be taken by the office. 8 QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED VOLUNTARILY The following questions are for the purpose of statistics and information about certain topics in which we are interested. 4 HOUSE REGULATIONS 1. New main roomers have to register at the responsible registration office by order of the police (Leonrodstraße 21, Tel.: 089/ ) when they move in and show the verification of their registration to the direction of the house not later than 14 days after moving in. For the removal they have to announce their departure according to that. 2. There is night rest between p.m. and 7.00 a.m. Noise is to be avoided. Special regard is to be paid to the room mate in the two bed rooms during the night rest. From p.m. on every inhabitant is obliged to lock the front door. 3. Radio and television have to be registered at the post office. The volume of radio, tape recorder, CD and record player etc. is to be limited to minimum (normal room intensity). Loud musical instruments are not allowed to be played. 4. For having guests in the rooms agreement with the room mate has to be guaranteed and regard paid to the other inhabitants on the floor and in the house. For the sake of all inhabitants on the floor guests who stay in the rooms over night have to be announced to the direction of the house beforehand and to be accepted. For longer residence (beginning from the fourth night per month) fees will be raised. Men and women are not allowed to stay in the same room over night. Female visitors are not allowed in the rooms during the time of night rest. Every inhabitant of the house is responsible for the behaviour of his guests. 5. Every roomer is obliged to keep the highest standard of cleanness and order in the whole area of the house (this means especially the kitchens and the student lounges) and has to care for cleaning and order in his own room (sinks etc.) himself. 6. The rule of fire insurance is part of the rule of the house. The corridors on the floors have to be kept free from any kind of thing at any time. 7. Damages on walls, installation and set up, through water, fire and tempest or at pipes and taps have to be told to the house administration immediately (it is recommended to use provided data cards). The damages will be repaired as soon as possible. The person who caused the damage might be charged. 8. Changes in the construction and any other changes in the rented rooms may only be done with a written licence from the owner of the house. It is not allowed to fix outdoor aerials. Piercing the walls is not permitted. All the rooms in the house, the furniture and other inventory have to be handled carefully. This means especially the care for the kitchen set up (stove, fridge, place of deposit etc.) and the student lounges. These set ups are supposed to be left in best condition for the disposal of the following roomers. Persons who caused damages might be called to pay the reparation. 9. Energy is to be handled economically. Especially during the heating period windows and doors have to be kept closed. Electrical instruments have to be turned off after use immediately, as well as water taps in order to preserve the boiler. It is not allowed to use lamps with power over 200 W. 10. For security reasons washing and electronic drying of laundry as well as cooking is not allowed in the rooms. Coins for the use of the washing machines and the dryer in the laundry room can be acquired at the direction of the house. 11. The rooms have to be locked. Personal property has to be kept under lock and key; in case of privation the landlord will not be liable. 5 12. The parking places in the yard are reserved for CVJM staff members. Vehicles may only be parked at the parking places in front of the house. There are places for bicycles in the garage and on the yard. The whole breadth of the entrance to the yard must be kept free. The door of the garage should always be locked for own sake. 13. The bar is at the disposal of the inhabitants of the house as a room for meetings and study groups and has to be cleared up after use. The big kitchen downstairs can also be used for celebrations by inhabitants of the John Mott Haus. When the keys are given out a security will be raised. Any desires concerning the use of these rooms have to be announced at the direction office of the house at least one week before. The garden is also at the inhabitants disposal. It is to be handled with care. The garden tables and benches can be used after previous check with the direction of the house and have to be put away afterwards. Meetings and need of use of the owner have priority to private meetings and private requirement. 14. The equipment of the urban youth centre (table tennis and billiard room, gymnasium etc.) can only be used according to the tutors program after previous check with the direction of the youth centre. 15. Posters and announcements may only be hung out with the permission of the direction of the house. 16. It is forbidden to keep domestic animals. The rule of the house serves to advance living together in the house, to prevent misunderstanding and to keep working expenses of the house and with this also the rents cheap. It is part of the lease and obligatory for all inhabitants and guests of the house. If one or more clauses of this rule will not be taken into account, it might be considered as a severe offence according to the factual situation and draw adequate conclusions.
