4 Situation In terms of location Furze Farm enjoys the best of all worlds, being surrounded by its own land, within a peaceful valley and enjoying fine views over adjoining rolling countryside. Beyond is a POLY TUNNEL, and behind this a cedar framed GREENHOUSE. From the driveway a cast iron period gate allows access to a beautiful COURTYARD surrounded on 3 sides by the properties outbuildings and in stone flags, bounded by raised borders and overhung by a magnificent well established Magnolia. The majority of the gardens run below the main house and are mainly laid to grass, interspersed with many specimen trees and shrubs, including areas of topiary. Nearest to the conservatory is a paved terrace which overlooks the garden and is an ideal location for Al Fresco dining, to the left of the garden there is a productive kitchen and soft fruit area and below a former pond is now a thriving watercress bed. The fields either side of the main access drive belong to the property and are laid to permanent pasture, beyond the garaging a 5 bar gate leads to a further gently sloping field which runs down to the woodland and stream at the bottom of the valley. Services The farmhouse and secondary unit have separate oil fired central heating systems, there is otherwise mains electricity, private water supply, private drainage as well as solar panels which generate an income. Local Authority North Devon District Council Directions From Barnstaple take the Goodleigh Road and continue for about 1.7 miles. Take the right hand turning signposted towards Goodleigh, stay on this road passing through the villages of Goodleigh and Gunn. Continue ignoring the signs to Yarnacott and Swimbridge, and take the next right hand turn signed West Buckland and East Buckland. Continue along this lane for about 200 yards and the entrance drive to Furze Farm will be found on the right hand side.
