5 SITUATION Preston House is situated in a quiet location close to the edge of the conservation village of Iwerne Minster which is surrounded by attractive countryside. The village lies between Blandford Forum to the south and the hilltop town of Shaftesbury to the north. Iwerne Minster has amenities including village shop, public house, parish church and the independent school Clayesmore. DESCRIPTION Preston House is Grade II Listed, has stone elevations under a tiled roof with Tuscan columns either side of the front door and is believed to date from the 17th Century and altered in the late 19th Century. Constructed around 1620 by the Bower Family who resided there for the next 250 years and their family crest, a Talbot Hound survives in the name of the village pub, The Talbot Hotel.
