Well, with all that s been happening lately to the world s economies, we, like everyone else, are wondering what 2009 will bring. Just recently we have been contacted by some of our clients who have reduced the price of their properties to attract an early sale. A few examples are featured within this Newsletter. Due to some quite substantial price reductions, in some cases there will be no further room for negotiation. Although the winter is very quiet in Skiathos as far as viewings of properties are concerned, we still receive many enquiries via and telephone. We have been spending the winter updating our computer systems and introducing new ways of working to make our office run more efficiently. As usual, inside this Newsletter we feature a small selection of properties, land and businesses that we currently have for sale or rent. Also, for the first time, we feature some long-term residential rentals which some clients consider doing before buying so that they can experience the island all year. On entering the front door on the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen, dining area and living room. On the ground floor there is also a small WC room. 4 Page 4 RESIDENTIAL LONG TERM RENTALS We are often asked about long-term rental opportunities. Here we feature a couple of examples. Long term rentals are not so common, because a lot of accommodation is suitable only for summer rental, not for the winter. If you are living in Skiathos all year round your property must be equipped with heating for the winter months when it can get extremely cold. For all of the properties shown here, the price is for the rental ONLY, i.e. utility bills would be paid separately based upon your consumption. In most cases, a payment of either six or twelve months would be required, along with a refundable deposit for damages. TWO MODERN APARTMENTS 2 BEDROOMS Ref 668 & 1 BEDROOM Ref 680 Here are two apartments for long-term rental either together or separately (minimum of one year). Conveniently located close to the ringroad of Skiathos and in a nice, quiet location. Both apartments are modern, furnished and well equipped, both have the benefit of central heating and air-conditioning so are suitable for all-year round living. BAR DESTINY Ref 694 Bar Destiny is a small but extremely busy bar located close to the centre of Skiathos Town. It is located in the heart of Skiathos in a quiet back street but within 5 minutes walk of the centre, harbour and bus stops. Price: 350,000 Euros LAND FOR SALE LAND AT TROULOS Ref 707 Plot of land at Troulos. 7150m2. Situated on the main road between Troulos and Aselinos. This plot has direct access to the main asphalt road and has excellent commercial opportunities. The plot is only a few minutes walk from the main Troulos junction. Price: 490,000 Euros PLOT OF LAND ABOVE KECHRIA WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS Ref 721 This is a gently sloping plot with wonderful views towards Pelion and along the north west coast of Skiathos. It is around 15 minutes drive from Skiathos Town. The area is very quiet and reasonably close to the beaches of Kechria and Alagaries. Road access is good for most of the way with a new asphalt road. Only the last two kilometres are dirt road and this is likely to be paved in the not too distant future.
