4 Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) Papua New Guinea MRA The Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) of Papua New Guinea (PNG) is a Government Agency and all functions are executed on behalf of the Government of PNG. The Mineral Resources Authority was established through the enactment of the Mineral Resources Authority Act 2005 by the PNG National Parliament Mining Act 1992 Regulate the Law relating to Minerals and Mining Related purposes in Papua New Guinea

5 PNG Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (PNGEITI) EITI is a global initiative that promotes transparency of financial flows between companies & government in extractive industry Companies disclose payments made to government; Government to disclose payments made to company PNG was admitted as an EITI compliance country on the 19 of March, after its candidacy application was approved by the EITI International Board. The PNG National Executive Council (Cabinet) approved the implementation of the EITI through the establishment of an EITI National Secretariat Review of mining legislation has included obligations for reporting under the PNGEITI initiative
