1 ACCESS STATEMENT FOR; The Judges House, 10 Well Close Terrace, Whitby, YO21 3AR Introduction Our self catering house is a three storey terrace Victorian property conveniently situated close to the sea front and local amenities. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this access statement and do hope it helps you to enjoy your stay. Pre-arrival Details of the property can be found on The reference number for The Judges House is 090. There are photographs of the rooms, together with a map to help you locate the property. Enquiries and Bookings can be made via Whitby Holiday Cottages by telephone, or in writing. This Access Statement is available on the website, and in the Welcome File in the property.

2 Directions Note; our experience is that sat-nav systems do not always locate this property accurately and it is advised that you also have these instructions and a street map handy On entering Whitby from Teeside or Pickering follow the A171 all the way down to the traffic lights. Turn left at the lights, following signs to the town centre. Note; If arriving from the South (Scarborough) carry straight on at these traffic lights. Continue down Dinner Hill to the mini roundabout. Take the first exit off the mini roundabout continuing up Chubb Hill. At the next mini-roundabout at the top of Chubb Hill take the second exit continuing along Upgang Lane. Then turn almost immediately right onto Crescent Avenue (just opposite Harrison s petrol station). Continue along Crescent Avenue and turn first right into John Street. At the bottom of John Street, turn right onto Skinner Street. Pass the Marquis of Granby public house then 50m past this turn right just before the bicycle shop (Dr Crank) into Well Close Square. Drive up the Square which becomes Well Close Terrace. The Judge s House (Number 10) is located down the left hand turn of Well Close Terrace almost at the end, on the right hand side.

3 Arrival and Car Parking Facilities Keys for the house should be collected from the offices of Whitby Holiday Cottages in Flowergate. Directions on how to find the offices will be sent with your booking information. The offices are approximately 5 minutes walk from the house. The Judge s House is situated in a cul-de-sac where unrestricted parking is available outside the house on a first come basis. There is also a long stay car park 4 minutes walk from the house which is free between November and February. A parking permit for this car park is provided free for guests to use when charges apply (March to October). Additional long stay day and week permits can be purchased from Whitby Tourist Information office.

4 The House Entrance There is a small step from the pavement to the front path and then two 18 cm steps leading to the front door Access to property through front door, width 80cm, mortice lock 124cm from floor. 8 Additional information All light switches are at a height of 127cm from floor. Most electrical sockets are at a height of 30 cm. Smoke/carbon monoxide (CO) detectors fitted in dining room, hallway, first floor landing and second floor landing. Gas Central Heating throughout and electric storage heaters in hall and first floor landing. Gas fires in dining room and front room. Pressurised (unvented) water system designed to supply water at a constant rate to all floors even when all water demands are being used.
